Aeron is governed by the Four individuals entrusted with the world jewel, in what we call a Tetrarchy Monarchy. The Four make decisions on world policies, rules, advancements, holidays, and more. Because the jewel binds the Queen/King of each continent to their land, they appoint a Chancellor in their stead to represent them in other countries and islands. Every year on the Eve of the New Moon the Chancellors meet to discuss the current political climate, societal structures, issues and changes. Although the Chancellor speaks for the Queen/King in official political meetings, final approval returns back to the Queen/King before any change can happen. 

Social Hierarchy is as follows:

Queen/King - Holder of the jewel. Addressed "Your Majesty"
Chancellor - Right hand of the Queen/King. Speaks on behalf of Queen/King during yearly meeting. May or may not be hereditary. Addressed "Your Grace"
Duke/Duchess - High nobility, old and powerful houses, owns land and resources. Addressed "Lord" or "Lady"
Earl/Marquess - Military leaders, Head Knight/Dame. Addressed title before name. EX: Earl Achilles, or Countess Marian. 
Count/Countess - Elected leaders of cities/towns. Addressed title before name. EX: Count Dracula or Countess Adrienne.  
Baron/Baroness - Lower nobility, old houses, may own land, own business. Addressed "Ser" or "Madame"
Knight/Dame - Guardsmen of Royal Leaders, Protectors of the Realm. Addressed title before name. EX: Knight Daavos or Dame Aylin. 
Guardian - Guardians of the Allways Portals. Facilitate travel, notate findings, assist adventurers. Addressed title before name. EX: Guardian Darian.
Citizen - Sentient beings living within the civlilized cities and towns of Aeron. Workers, scholars, crafters. No titles. 
Wanderer - No official housing or work. Can sell their skils or sword. Can be thieves, bandits or pirates. No titles. 
Servant - While there are no slaves on Aeron, citizens may pledge their service to noble households in return for safety and food. No titles.
